Experience:
Minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience in a litigation environment for Attorneys.
Minimum of 5 years' experience as Paralegal in insurance or litigation environment. Must have prepared pleadings and hold a Bachelor s Degree. Senior Paralegals preferred.
Relevant litigation experience includes one of the following ideally at medium to large firms:
Commercial, Environmental, Employment, E&O, D&O, Fidelity, International, Workers Compensation, Insurance Defense.
In-depth knowledge of the litigation process, claim litigation handling and litigation management protocols
Experienced in handling or supporting all aspects of a lawsuit including but not limited to pleadings, motion practice, depositions, and discovery (including e-discovery). Trial experience is a plus
Proven ability to interact effectively at various levels within a corporation and with law firm personnel.

Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and audit invoices submitted by defense counsel and others for compliance with guidelines. Confer with claim staff, law firm personnel and other vendor staff in order to identify billing issues and inconsistencies with Billing Guidelines
Proactively seek additional information from law firms, claim handlers or others for completion of the bill review process and reach final resolution on submitted invoices
Work closely with field claim staff, litigation coordinators and other company staff to finalize audit decisions
Identify firm billing trends and pro-actively elevate issues to Unit Supervisor
Collaborate with Department staff (peers and management) to identify opportunities to enhance the audit process workflow
Meet or exceed productivity requirements as outlined by your Unit Supervisor/Manager
Process all invoices within applicable time frames
Maintain a courteous and professional manner at all times
Contribute to consistency and turnaround time goals of the Department and Company.
Job Skills Required:
Strong analytical, writing and communication skills
Creative self-starter with strong organizational skills
Solid skills in MS Word/Excel and general computer literacy (auditing software knowledge a plus).
Ability to maintain big picture view while maintaining attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ideal candidate would be a confident communicator who prefers phone communication while also able to efficiently utilize email.
